North Adams: Dinner to benefit Lukas Rylander, age 6

A spaghetti dinner to benefit Lukas Rylander, son of Bobbie Jo Gallagher and Roland Rylander, will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the American Legion, 91 American Legion Drive.

Lukas is a 6-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) and has been in treatment at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield since August. ADEM is a rare neurological disorder that causes inflammation and lesions in the brain and spinal cord.

In addition to the spaghetti dinner, there will be basket raffles, a 50/50, bake sale, and face painting.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 6-12 years old, children age 5 and younger are free.

All proceeds from this event will be used to help defray the costs related to Lukas’ medical treatment.
