North Adams: Drury hosting senior citizen prom


The Drury High School sociology classes are hosting the annual senior citizen prom from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in the school gymnasium.

This year's theme, "A Dance for the Decades," celebrates the decades of 1920 to 2016. All are welcome wear dress from the eras of the roaring 20s, hippie, sock hop, disco, etc.

Light dinner fare is provided, students make baked goods, a disc jockey provides musical entertainment, and students and the seniors mingle and dance.

The evening concludes with the selection of a king/queen and court.

The event is free and open to the public.

The prom is paid for by a Gateway Grant through the Berkshire Taconic Foundation and contributions from generous businesses and individuals.
