North Adams: Duck Derby to benefit Family Center

Posted

The Family Center of Northern Berkshire County, a program of Child Care of the Berkshires, will host a duck derby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, to raise funds for playgroups, family support, parent education, and early literacy programming.

Hundreds of ducks will travel down the Hoosic River behind the Noel Field walking track. Participants pay $5 to adopt a numbered duck, hoping that their duck, or number, comes in first, second or third place.

First place is $300, second is $200, and third is $100.

Any remaining ducks will be available for adoption from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The race will begin at noon.

Ducks can be purchased from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Family Center, CCB, 210 State St., on the lower level.

Children's activities and games will be available at the event.
