North Adams: Event to mark anniversary of NARH closing

On the two-year anniversary of the abrupt closing of North Adams Regional Hospital, the North County Cares Coalition is hosting an event at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, at City Hall, 10 Main St., as part of an ongoing effort to restore a full-service hospital to Northern Berkshire County.

Speakers include Francisco Ramos, organizer and outreach manager at the non-profit Health Care for All, and Rachel I. Branch, whose great grandfather, Arthur Gallup, bought the land at auction for the North Adams Hospital.

NCCC is an alliance of concerned residents and health and community advocates that was formed to restore inpatient beds at what is now the Northern Berkshire Campus of Berkshire Medical Center.
