North Adams firms merge; launch website

NORTH ADAMS -- Cord Master Engineering and Meehan Electronics have merged into a single company and have launched a new website.

The new company will operate as Cord Master Engineering.

The new website can be found at

Cord Master President Bernie LaRoche said the decision to merge was due to a "variety of reasons."

"The Meehan Electronics name had been kept alive largely due to administrative issues with existing prime contractor relationships," he said in a statement.

It will also allow Cord Master to offer several new services.

They include wire cutting and stripping, laser wire marking, wire termination, connector assembly, wire harness assembly, LSZH molded power cords, and control panel assembly) as a HUB-Zone certified supplier.

Cord Master will also offer packing and distribution services such as kitting, repackaging and re-marking for any electrical or electrical hardware needs.

The new website is a fully responsive WordPress website that was developed by Berkshire Direct of Williamstown. Cord Master has been working with Berkshire Direct on its websites since 2009, according to CEO Hugh Daley.

"We didn't just want to change the logo on the old site and call it a day," Daley said in a statement. "We took this opportunity to really improve our website. The new site is fully responsive which means it automatically adapts to look great on all devices including tablets and phones, a requirement in this day and age."
