North Adams: Former Celtics player to speak at MCLA

A former player for the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets and the head of "Hoop Dreams" will speak at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, in the College’s Campus Center gymnasium.

Chris Heren, a graduate of Durfee High School in Fall River, struggled with substance abuse for much of his basketball career. He will talk about how he overcame his addiction and achieved his dreams.

The event is free and open to the public.

This event is sponsored by MCLA Athletics, CHOICES, Williams College, MCLA’s Academic Affairs, the sociology and psychology departments at MCLA, and the NCAA.
