North Adams: Illustrated talk to discuss color black

The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Visitors Museum at Western Gateway Heritage State Park will present an illustrated lecture, "The Other Side of White ... the Concept of Black," at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.

This illustrated lecture will explore the concept of the absence of light. What is truly black? How has science, history and culture defined and used the idea of a color with no color?

Western Gateway Heritage State Park is south of the Hadley Overpass on Route 8. The Visitors Museum is in building 4. Information: (413) 663-6312.
