Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts has announced that the Berkshire Compact Aspirations Committee Initiative will present the second annual North County Eighth Grade Career Fair at the College on Thursday, Jan. 10.

The event, to be held from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. in Venable Gym and Bowman Hall, is expected to draw more than 400 students from six northern Berkshire schools.

At this career fair, students will learn about different types of jobs and careers to help them make informed decisions about course selection in high school, as they begin to think about higher education.

Students will hear from MCLA President Mary K. Grant and Associate Director of Admission Josh Mendel about the importance of education, exploring interests and developing career aspirations.

Students also will attend two workshops of their choice, which are designed to motivate and challenge them. The workshops will be presented by local professionals who are passionate about teaching students about their line of work, and by college faculty members.
