North Adams: Movieplex offers free screenings of ‘The Hungry Heart’

"The Hungry Heart," a new documentary film on prescription drug addiction and recovery, will screen at North Adams Movieplex at 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Saturday, May 11 to 17, with free admission.

The film provides an intimate look at the often hidden world of prescription drug addiction through the work of Vermont pediatrician Dr. Fred Holmes whose patients struggle with this disease.

Leaders of nb21 North Adams (not before 21) will lead a question and answer session after the screening on Saturday, May 17, and will be available each evening before the screening with substance use prevention materials.

Five free movie passes will be raffled at each performance.

Information: Lois Daunis, nb21 prevention coordinator at Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, (413) 663-7588.
