Friday July 5, 2013

The Department of Conservation & Recreation's Visitors Museum at Western Gateway Heritage State Park will present an illustrated lecture on "Gettysburg" at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, as part of its ongoing "Civil War 150 Years Series."

For the 150th anniversary of the battle, this illustrated program will bring back Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee to tell in his own words the truth about how and why the South squandered this lost opportunity and the war along with it.

Western Gateway Heritage State Park is located south of the Hadley Overpass on Route 8. The Visitors Museum is in building No. 4. Information: (413) 663-6312.
