North Adams: Naloxone/CPR training offered
A naloxone (Narcan), rescue breathing and CPR community training will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at North Adams Ambulance, 10 Harris St.
Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal drug that can be administered to someone experiencing an overdose from heroin or prescription opioid pain medication.
The training will cover how to identify the signs of an overdose, assess if an overdose victim needs rescue breathing or CPR, how to administer rescue breathing, CPR and naloxone, and how to obtain low cost or no cost naloxone.
All Northern Berkshire residents are welcome.
The free training will be delivered by AJ Jusino, an EMT and assistant chief at North Adams Ambulance.
The training is sponsored by North Adams Ambulance, the Rx Heroin Work Group of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, and the Berkshire Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative.
