Editor's note: This story was updated on March 3 to correct the location of the fire, which occurred on Edgewood Avenue, not Englewood Avenue, as originally stated.

NORTH ADAMS - Police are investigating the origins of a fire that gutted an outbuilding at 45 Edgewood Ave.

There were no injuries.

Fire Director Steve Meranti said all utilities to the structure had been turned off, and there was no wood stove or other possible source of the fire inside the building.

Meranti said firefighters arrived at the scene at around 8 p.m. to find the single-story building fully involved.

The structure abuts an abandoned house, so the firemen focused on knocking the blaze down quickly.

Meranti said the owner of the property is not yet known, and police are trying to track him down.

The Florida Fire Dept., North Adams Police Dept. and North Adams Ambulance Service were also at the scene.
