North Adams Police respond to reported armed robbery at Quadland's Flowers and Gifts

NORTH ADAMS — City police are investigating a reported armed robbery at Quadland's Flowers and Gifts early Monday.

A store employee called police at 9:11 a.m. to report that a man robbed the store at 90 Holden St., according to North Adams Police.

He was described as a white male wearing gym shorts, a dark blue shirt, and having a black backpack. A gun was tucked into the shorts waistband. Police said the man was clean-shaven, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighed about 130 to 140 pounds.

Police said no money was taken from the store and the employee was not injured. The suspect was last seen running east past Little's Pharmacy on Eagle Street.

State police canine units were later called to assist with a search for the suspect.

Police also are reviewing surveillance tapes from adjacent stores such as Big Y supermarket and CVS Pharmacy.
