North Adams: 'Relay Idol' contest winners announced

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Northern Berkshire County on May 20 at Noel Field featured "Relay Idol," an idea that spun off of the television show and cultivated by local musician Lita Williams.

After a series of auditions in March at the '6 House Pub in Williamstown, winners advanced to the final round on-site at the Relay For Life event. The restaurant also donated 10 percent of its March and April sales to Relay For Life.

The 18 finalists across a variety of age groups, each raised at least $100 for the Relay For Life event, for a grand total of more than $3,000.

A panel of judges comprised of local musicians Doug Banker, Ray Gifford and Jon Goodson chose the following winners: Kids: Sabrina Lewis of Williamstown; Teen: Jaedin King of Williamstown; Men: Davon Stovall of North Adams; and Women: Tori Kathleen Osterhout of Pittsfield.
