North Adams: Special education basic rights workshop

Posted

The Federation for Children with Special Needs will be hosting a free Basic Rights in Special Education workshop at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County's North campus at 535 Curran Highway.

The workshop seeks to provide families with an introduction to their rights and responsibilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the Massachusetts Special Education Law.

The workshop is designed to help parents become effective partners with their child's school, to decide their child's eligibility for special education, and to plan, make decisions and monitor their child's progress in school.

Registration is required. Contact Amanda Donohue, UCP of Berkshire County, 413-664-9345, adonohue@ucpberkshire.org.
