North Adams: Storyteller’s performance to highlight Hoosic River
The Hoosic River Revival will present a performance of "Old Memories/New Dreams" by award winning storyteller Judith Black on Tuesday, May 20, at First Congregational Church, 134 Main St.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Pizza and beverages will be served at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 6:30 p.m.
The family friendly event is open to all with a suggested donation of $2 for adults, children 12 and under admitted for free.
The one-night-only performance marks the culmination of a yearlong collaboration between Black and the North Adams community.
Funded in part with an educational grant from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, Black was commissioned by the Hoosic River Revival in March 2013 to craft a story that would incorporate historical and ecological information of the Hoosic River watershed with North Adams’ specific memories of the river and the community’s changing relationship to it.
