North Adams: Teen writers to give public reading

Posted

Young writers participating in UNITY’s 2013-2014 Teen Writing Workshop will give a public reading at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Gallery 51 on Main Street.

Students will perform work that they have created during this year’s program, which met weekly from October to early April. The event is free and open to the public. A reception with refreshments will immediately follow the reading.

The team of teen writers, ages 14 to 19, are co-led by Robin Lehleitner, a local writer and former English teacher, and Jake Snow, a TWW alum and award-winning slam poet. The diverse group includes students from multiple northern Berkshire high schools as well as home-schooled and out-of-school youth.

Information: Kate Merrigan, UNITY program coordinator, at (413) 663-7588 or kmerrigan@nbccoalition.org .
