North Adams: Tree lighting slated Wednesday

NORTH ADAMS - The annual tree lighting ceremony and Hometown Holidays kick-off is slated Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. at Monument Square on Main Street.

Once Main Street lights up, the Drury High School Band and Band Front will lead the way for the North Adams Fire Department's fire engine as it makes its way through downtown with Santa Claus. Santa and his helpers will bring gifts for the first 500 children.

Hometown Holidays offers a month of activities and shopping bargains encouraging residents to shop locally for their holiday gifts. This year, Hometown Holidays events will take place on Saturdays, Nov. 28 to Dec. 19.
