North Adams: UMass professor to lecture at MCLA

The Leadership Academy at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will present a lecture by Sut Jhally, "The Crisis of Whiteness in the Age of the Black Presidency," at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 11, in Murdock Hall, room 218, on the MCLA campus.

This event is free and open to the public.

Jhally is a professor of communication at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and the founder and executive director of the Media Education Foundation. He is the author of numerous books and articles on the media, including "The Codes of Advertising" and "Enlightened Racism."

The goal of MCLA's Leadership Academy is to prepare educators to serve as leaders of educational institutions and active citizens in their communities.
