NORTH ADAMS — City Police reported an unarmed robbery at the Xtra Mart on Ashland Street around 6:30 p.m. Monday, in which a man snatched cash out of a clerk's hand and fled.

Sgt. Jason Wood said a man in his 40s came into the convenience store and asked if the clerk could make change for a $100 bill. When she took the change amount from the register, the man grabbed it from her hand and ran out of the store, Wood said, and then escaped on foot.

The man was described as 5 foot 10 inches to 5 foot 11 tall, with a scruffy appearance and wearing a brown baseball cap, brown Carhartt jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information should call city police at 413-664-4944.
