North Berkshire: Paint collections set for NBSWM District towns


The Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District has set the dates for its 2014 paint collections.

The Paint Shed at the Hinsdale Transfer Station, 106 Plunkett Reservoir Road, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, June 28 and Sept. 6.

The Paint Shed at the Williamstown Transfer Station, 675 Simonds Road, will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13.

The Cheshire Paint Shed will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27. The Paint Shed is located at the Cheshire Transfer Station, 8 Main St., adjacent to the Highway Garage.

Only paint is being collected. Paint can be latex, oil-based, alkyd, stains, or polyurethane. There is a charge of $2 per liquid gallon of paint. Spray paint is accepted at no charge.

These collections are open to residents of Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, New Ashford, Peru, Savoy, Williamstown, and Windsor.
