PITTSFIELD -- The owner of a North Street vintage furniture and furnishings shop reported a burglary overnight Sunday that resulted in the loss of a small amount of money in a cash drawer and damage to a window and merchandise.

Rebecca Barnini, owner of Circa at 436 North St. in the Greystone Building, reported the break at 9:30 a.m. Monday, city police said.

Barnini said the burglar or burglars entered by breaking a window on the side of the shop, facing a city parking lot. The window was broken, and a vase and lamp inside overturned.

Barnini said she will ask the city to put lighting in the parking lot, which she said is poorly lit for whose who go to their vehicles there after dark.
