Dinner and auction
at Methodist Church

The First United Methodist Church at 55 Fenn St. will host an autumn dinner and auction on Saturday.

The public event begins at 5 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the live auction begins at 7 p.m.

The cost of dinner is $12 per person and features lemon herb chicken, rice pilaf, green beans almondine, tossed salad and apple crisp with ice cream.

The proceeds will support the church’s mission of helping others with programs such as the weekly Harvest Table (free dinners every Tuesday), bi-monthly food pantry, and The Pearl Street Day Center, a collaboration with Berkshire Co-Act providing job counseling, training, and other support services for the homeless and unemployed.

First Baptist to host dinner, mini fair

The Women’s Ministries Fellowship of First Baptist Church, 88 South St., will hold a roast beef dinner and mini fair from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A dinner consisting of roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, butternut squash, green beans, bread, and brownie ice cream sundaes will be served family style and continuously from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for youth 12 and under is requested. Take-outs are available upon request.

The mini fair will feature handmade crafts and items from SERRV International and Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity. Proceeds will benefit each organization.


Hospice offering
6-week grief program

Hospice Services of Western Massachusetts invites members of the Berkshire County community to take part in a six-week grief support program for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one.

The group will meet at 4 p.m. on Mondays, Nov. 7 through Dec. 12, in the lower level of the Tierney building at 66 West St. where the hospice office is located.

The program is offered free of charge, but those desiring to participate must pre-register to reserve a place in the group. To register, call the Rev. Dennis C. Castella at (413) 442-0048.

North Adams:

Dinner to benefit cancer patient

A benefit buffet dinner for Angelia Giracca, a 36-year-old cancer patient, will be held Saturday from 2 p.m. until close at The Crystal Hard Hat, 55-59 Union St.

Tickets, at $10 per person in advance and $15 at the door, can be purchased at the Crystal Hard Hat; The Hub Restaurant, 55 Main St.; Jeepers Creepers, 17 Hoosac St., Adams; or from David Field, 13 Friend St., Adams, (413) 841-5385.
