N.Y. fugitive found at BMC
PITTSFIELD -- A teen wanted in New York for grand larceny is being held without bail after he was picked up in Pittsfield as he left Berkshire Medical Center.
Thomas Ryan O’Toole, 18, of New Hartford, N.Y. waived rendition Friday in Central Berkshire District Court and was ordered held by Judge Paul M. Vrabel until New York authorities could retrieve him.
According to a police report, O’Toole is wanted by New Hartford Police on single counts of grand larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. O’Toole missed a court date earlier this month in a New Hartford court.
He was arrested by the Pittsfield Police at about 8 p.m. as he left the hospital where he had received undisclosed treatment. It was unclear what he was doing in Pittsfield.
New Hartford, a suburb of Utica, is in Oneida County.
