Oldcastle Theatre Company auditions slated for musical, tour

BENNINGTON, Vt. -- Old castle Theatre Company will be holding Equity principal and non-Equity auditions on Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at its new theater at 331 Main St.

The productions being cast are "Northern Boulevard," a new musical by Carleton Car penter and Kevin Brofsky, which opens on Dec. 7 and closes Dec. 23, and the non-Equity Actors’ Express educational touring company production.

Actors interested in auditioning should prepare a brief song and bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. Actors are requested to bring a photo and resume, stapled together.

"Northern Boulevard" features music and lyrics by Carleton Carpenter and book by Kevin Brofsky. It follows a young couple through court ship, marriage, children, and grandchildren, with ups and downs, wins and losses and a bucketful of marvelous songs. This will be the inaugural production in Old castle’s new space.

The musical includes eight parts for men and women, from teenage to middle age.

Actors’ Express is a touring production that goes to schools in the greater Bennington area performing original plays with music that address issues concerning young people.
