Environmental group endorses Farley-Bouvier

PITTSFIELD >> The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund endorsed of state Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier, D-Pittsfield, for re-election.

"We are grateful for Tricia's leadership on environmental issues and for her work to build a more sustainable commonwealth and we are proud to stand with her," ELM stated in a letter announcing the endorsement.

"ELM has been a key player in shaping environmental policy in Massachusetts and is committed to fighting climate change and preserving the land, water, and health of the commonwealth," Farley-Bouvier said. "Good government is about teamwork and I look forward to continuing to work with ELM in ensuring that Massachusetts is on the forefront of environmental issues."

The fund is a nonprofit educational and advocacy organization committed to fighting climate change as well as the protection of the commonwealth's natural resources.

Harrington campaign kicks off 'House Party Tour'

RICHMOND >> Andrea Harrington, a Democratic candidate for state Senate, has is planning a "Four County House Party Tour," beginning Tuesday in Great Barrington.

Harrington is running for Senate in the Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden District being vacated by Sen. Benjamin B. Downing.

The tour will consist of 30 individual campaign house parties and meet and greets across the four counties.

"I'm proud of the true districtwide campaign we are running. From Williamstown to Westhampton and Pittsfield to Peru, we are talking to voters and doing grassroots organizing in every corner of the district," Harrington said.

She added, "I am running for state Senate to be a bold, progressive voice for Western Massachusetts, and I look forward to working with residents across the district on the issues that matter to us. I will be a tireless advocate for our communities as we work to combat the opioid epidemic, invest in public education, and develop comprehensive strategies to promote environmental sustainability and create jobs for our region."

Harrington grew up in Richmond where she lives with her husband, Tim, and their two sons. Harrington is an attorney and owns a small business in West Stockbridge.
