One woman injured after two-car crash at Monument Mountain Regional

GREAT BARRINGTON — A Pittsfield woman was injured following a two car crash in front of the entrance to Monument Mountain Regional High School Thursday afternoon.

Around 1 p.m., 18-year-old Maizy Hillman from Sheffield was exiting her vehicle from the school onto Route 7 when she pulled in front of another vehicle operated by 24-year-old Nyssa Ann Wesner, of Pittsfield, according to Great Barrington police.

Wesner was turning into the driveway from the Route 7 northbound lane when she was struck, the impact of the crash forcing her car into an open field across the highway.

Wesner was taken to Fairview Hospital for treatment, but her condition was unknown Thursday evening.

Three passengers in her car – including two children – and Hillman weren't hurt.

Police cited Hillman for failure to use care while entering traffic and grant the right of way to another vehicle.
