Open house, ribbon-cutting set at renovated Colegrove Park Elementary
NORTH ADAMS — The city will host a ribbon cutting and public open house next week at Colegrove Park Elementary School.
The school, formerly the Silvio O. Conte Middle School, opened earlier this month following the completion of a $30 million renovation.
While the school's students were allowed to walk through the new school before it opened, the open house will provide members of the general public with the chance to see the finished product. The open house will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25.
Earlier in the day, local, state, and federal officials will be on hand for a ceremonial ribbon cutting, according to an announcement Thursday by Mayor Richard Alcombright's office. Alcombright, Superintendent James Montepare, Colegrove Principal Shelley Fachini, and contractors who worked on the project also will attend the ceremony.
The event is open to the public, but on-site parking is expected to be limited.
