Pair sought in knifepoint robbery at Pittsfield sandwich shop

PITTSFIELD — A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two people who allegedly robbed a city sandwich shop at knifepoint Monday evening.

About 7:25 p.m., two suspects carrying knives and wearing darks masks and clothing robbed Angelina's on West Housatonic Street, according to Pittsfield Police.

Police said the robbery was, "violent in nature," but that no one was injured.

The two suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot, police said.

A search dog was brought in and was able to track the suspects for a short distance, but they were not located, police said.
