Passing grades not good enough
I find it curious that the public school system in Berkshire County seems to be satisfied with schools being at Level 3 , in a system rated on a 1 to 5 scoring card (MCAS scores story, Eagle, Sept. 20.) It is the same way the schools use the word "passing" as if it were a gold medal.
Level 3 is average, not a failure but hardly an a achievement. Parents and educators alike have to insist that a passing grade is not good enough and encourage students to reach a higher goal.
