Pay a visit to local catamount

The Sept. 30 front page story contending that a mountain lion or catamount could not possibly exist on a permanent basis in the Berkshires is grossly inaccurate. To the contrary, the catamount I have seen is alive and well in Berkshire County.

This catamount is not transient, has lived in Berkshire County for many years, and is tame and friendly. Its existence is well documented by local authorities, as well as state agencies. The one I am referring to is easy to locate and once at its lair is hard to miss and undeniably a genuine catamount.

I would welcome the editor, or anyone else still in doubt, to come visit this catamount or go to catamountski.com After all, skiing is believing!
