Hip-hop super couple launching tour

Jay-Z and Beyonce have announced they'll hit the road together this summer and fall for a stadium tour.

The hip-hop super couple will kick off their "On the Run II" tour June 6 in Cardiff, Wales. The tour will hit 15 cities across the United Kingdom and Europe and 21 cities in North America, including Boston, Detroit, New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Miami.

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting March 19.

The tour will end Oct. 2 in Vancouver.



'Wrinkle in Time' director to attend this year's Ebertfest

The University of Illinois has said that Ava DuVernay, the Oscar-nominated director of "Selma" and "A Wrinkle in Time," will attend the 20th annual Ebertfest — honoring the late movie critic, Roger Ebert — next month in Champaign, Illinois.

She'll bring her film "The 13th," which was nominated for an Oscar for best documentary.

Ebert and his wife, Chaz Ebert, co-founded the event in collaboration with the university. Films are shown in downtown Champaign's Virginia Theatre.



Apartment building developed by actor to open in April

Actor Wendell Pierce has announced that the grand opening of an apartment complex will be next month.

The Baltimore Sun reports Pierce said in a tweet, "Grand Opening of The Nelson Kohl Apartments 20 E. Lanvale. April 6th 11:30am. Come and join me as we cut the ribbon!!!"

Pierce is known for his role as Detective William "Bunk" Moreland on "The Wire" and for the role of Antoine Batiste on "Treme."

He has said he hopes the $20 million, 103-unit complex is the first of many Baltimore projects for him.

Pierce said he hoped to keep the prices affordable for a mix of renters.
