Personification of a true friend

Posted
Monday February 11, 2013

I am writing about a man who is the epitome of the word "friend." His name is John Enright. My brother Thomas "Butch" Potter passed away recently and he and John were friends for close to 70 years. Over those years Butch also worked for John in his business. It is not an easy task to stay friends all those years when one of you is the boss. But John always treated Butch as if he was also his brother.

And that was never more true than in the last few years of his life when Butch took ill, the time when only "true" friends show up. Not only did John visit Butch in the nursing home but he also took care of all of his affairs for him. We would all be so lucky as to have a friend such as John Enright.
