PHS handles rival on the links

PITTSFIELD -- Five Generals shot 44 or under as Pittsfield High rebounded from a close loss to Lenox on Wednesday to defeat Taconic 162-179 on Thursday at the par 35 Berkshire Hills Country Club..
"Pittsfield outplayed us," said Taconic coach Mike Hillman. "Their top three scorers had great games. I thought we played a lot better earlier in the week."
Jake Matthews was the medalist of the match with a 38 for PHS.
PITTSFIELD (162) -- Ryan Grande 40, Adam Brickle 40, Jake Matthews 38, Nick Martin 44, Jerry McDonough 53, Dennis Coney 44.

NORTH ADAMS -- With only one golfer breaking 50, the Hornets struggled against Mohawk.
Austin Segala led McCann with a 47 and scored two of his teams 21 2 points.

Lenox girls win
SHEFFIELD -- Pitts field's Lauren Farry was the first runner across the line on Friday, but Lenox countered with a second place finish by Hannah McClusky, a third by Emily Tibbetts and a fifth by Elizabeth Jarck.That was just enough to give the Millionaires the 27-30 win yesterday at Mount Everett's course.
Lenox also defeated St. Joseph's 15-50.
The Generals took home a 15-50 win over Drury. The Crusaders went 2-1 on the afternoon, picking up a 15-50 win over Mount Everett and a 22-33 win over Drury. Drury beat Mount Everett 15-50.
Lenox boys win
SHEFFIELD -- Scott Carpenter took first place by nearly a minute over teammate Tucker McNinch, and Lenox defeated Pittsfield 24-31. Carpenter finished the course at Mount Everett in 15:32, with McNinch checking in at 16:20.
The Mount Everett boys team defeated Drury 25-30, led by Todd Clay , Justin Makuc and Kenny Edwards, who were 31st, 32nd and 33rd overall respectively. Pittsfield also defeated Drury 15-50.
