Pittsfield: Airport project trucking under way
PITTSFIELD -- The Airport Commission says motorists and residents should expect heavy truck travel associated with the Pittsfield Municipal Airport project along Barker Road to South Mountain Road.
The dump truck hauling will start Thursday, Aug. 30, and will last about five weeks, if the weather cooperates and barring other unforeseen circumstances.
There will be approximately 250 truck loads per day. Caution signs will line the route.
According to The Airport Commission, dump trucks will be entering and exiting Barker Road. Drivers should use caution in this area.
Work is being done to lengthen the airport’s runway.
