Pittsfield: Alzheimer’s groups to host Caregiver Expo

Thursday March 28, 2013

The Berkshire Alzheimer’s Partnership, in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association, will host the seventh Caregiver Expo from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, at the Crowne Plaza.

The Expo is designed as an evening of information and relaxation for anyone caring for an elder. Resources for elders in general, as well as those with dementia issues, and tips for meeting the needs of the caregiver are the focus of the event.

The Expo will feature representatives from a vast array of service organizations such as home health care, adult day programs, assisted living and long term care organizations.

Keynote speaker will be Dr. Benjamin Liptzin, chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Baystate Medical Center.

The evening includes dinner. A donation of $5 to help offset the cost is suggested but not required. There will be prize drawings and complimentary mini spa services provided.
