Pittsfield: Anshe Amunim to celebrate fall festivals
Temple Anshe Amunim, 26 Broad St., will celebrate three autumn festivals beginning with Sukkot, a celebration of the harvest season starting with the building of an outdoor sukkah.
Sukkah decorating will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. Pizza, cider and doughnuts will be served. Reservations are required.
Rabbi Josh Breindel will lead a Sukkot Study Session at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17. The community is invited. Morning festival service follows at 10:45 a.m.
A special family-friendly service for Simchat Torah will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, with music, readings, dancing, and a consecration for new Religious School students. This event is open to the public with a dinner to follow. Reservations are required.
A study session for the last day of Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, will be held at the Temple at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, followed by a Shemini Atzeret service with Yizkor at 10:45 a.m.
