Pittsfield: Artswalk to highlight Berkshire organizations


The March 4 First Fridays Artswalk will encompass a dozen different art shows featuring work by regional artists in Pittsfield's Upstreet Cultural District.

Artswalk will kick off with opening receptions and artists present throughout the "walk" from 5 to 8 p.m. A free guided walking tour will begin at 5 p.m. at the Intermodal Center at BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave.

The evening will culminate with an Afterwalk Party featuring live music from singer/songwriter Alan Monasch and guest performer Jordan Franklin from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

The Whitney Center will present an exhibit by artists with disabilities from Community Access to the Arts (CATA) through March 27.

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Ave., will present the Berkshire Art Association College Fellowship Show through March 26.

Dottie's Coffee Lounge, 444 North St., will host a series of Burlesque Life Drawing sessions to benefit the Elizabeth Freeman Center from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays, March 4, 11 and 25.

Dottie's will host a kickoff drawing party during Artswalk. Bring your own materials, although some basic supplies will be available.
