Pittsfield: Athenaeum to host genealogy workshop in February


The Local History Department of the Berkshire Athenaeum and the Berkshire Family History Association are sponsoring a Family Search genealogy workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 18 and 19, at the library, 1 Wendell Ave.

Free and open to the public, this workshop is for people who are interested in learning how to navigate the familysearch.org website.

The Tuesday class is for beginners and the Wednesday class is for intermediates. Participants may sign up for either or both classes and may bring their own laptop or use a library laptop.

There are no prerequisites for this class, although participants will need to create an account on Family Search. Visit familysearch.org and click on "sign on" to create an account.

Space is limited to 10 people. Early registration is advised by calling the Local History Department at (413) 499-9480, ext. 6.
