Pittsfield: Audie Furgal tennis tournament set for Saturday


The third annual Audie Furgal Tennis Classic will take place Saturday, June 21, at Berkshire West Athletic Club and various other tennis venues throughout Berkshire County to benefit the Lee Community Tennis Association and Porchlight VNA/Home Care, the lead sponsors of the event.

Venues begin play at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by a poolside luncheon and auction at noon at Berkshire West. The luncheon will be catered by Guido’s Fresh Marketplace.

The tennis classic will be played in a round robin format with opportunities for singles and doubles of all ages and skill levels. The cost to play is $35 for adults and $10 for ages 14 and under.

The cost of the luncheon only is $15 for adults, $7.50 for those under 12, and free for those under age 5.

The late Audie Furgal was a Lee resident and longtime member of the Lee CTA. She passed away in 2012 after a year-long battle with lung cancer. During her illness, she received many of the services provided by Porchlight VNA/Home Care.
