Pittsfield: BCC pinning ceremony recognizes Practical Nurse graduates


Twenty-four graduates of the Practical Nurse certificate program at Berkshire Community College were recognized June 19 during a pinning ceremony in the Robert Boland Theatre of the college’s Koussevitzky Arts Center.

Beth Fiscella, Susan St. John, Nancy Simmons, Marcy Moriarty and Leslie Drager presented pins and certificates to the graduates including: Shirley Alexander, Daniluz Aloyo-Hebert, Sophia Blake, Monica Bonett, Juliana Brunell, Angelique Chaffee, Kayla Courtney, Page Houser, Melissa Kimok, Erika Laptas, Richard Larson, Nicole Litchfield, Concepcia Mathieu, Cynthia Merriott, Brea Morawski, Dayanara Nassar, Muriithi Ngetha, Lilly Ojeda, Velma Pires, Monica Silva de Deyermenjian, Sarah Simmons, Nixon St. Bernard, Amanda Stevens, and Vanessa Taylor.

The following awards were presented:

Clinical Award: Erica Laptas, Angel Chaffee.

Academic Award: Sarah Simmons, Richard Larson.

Professionalism Award: Sophia Blake, Muriithi Ngetha.

Graduates of the 10-month program are eligible to sit for the Licensed Practice Nurse exam within 10 days of graduation.
