Pittsfield: BCC professor to present nature program

Tom Tyning, associate professor of environmental science at Berkshire Community College, will present "The Secret Lives of Frogs and Salamanders" at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Berkshire Athenaeum, 1 Wendell Ave..

The free program is suitable for the whole family.

In addition to his teaching duties, Tyning leads field studies to conduct long term research projects on vernal pools, rare salamanders, endangered snakes and spade foot toads.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum.
