Pittsfield: Berkshire Athenaeum to host genealogy workshops
During October at the Berkshire Athenaeum, genealogist Alan Horbel will offer two sessions of his four-week workshop on conducting genealogical research using Federal Census Records.
Sponsored by the Local History Department of the Athenaeum and the Berkshire Family History Association, the classes will be held on four consecutive Tuesdays, Oct. 2 to 23.
A morning session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required by calling the Local History Department at (413) 499-9480, ext. 6. The workshops are offered free of charge.
Due to the popularity of this offering and the limited space, participants are asked to be sure they can commit to the full four weeks before registering. Bringing a lap-top is encouraged. The library will provide one for in-house use for those who do not have one.
