Pittsfield: Berkshire Concert Choir issues call for singers

Singers are sought for the spring semester of the Berkshire Concert Choir's 38th season.

The choir's first rehearsal for its spring concert will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at First United Methodist Church, 55 Fenn St.

Subsequent rehearsals will be held in the music room at Pittsfield High School. Rehearsals are held from 7 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday.

There are no auditions. Dues are $40 per person per semester.

The spring concert, under the direction of Paula Nuss, artistic director, will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at St. Mark Church.

The theme will be "Great Poets/Great Composers" with texts by William Shakespeare and Robert Frost and music by Carl Orff and Benjamin Britten.
