Pittsfield: Berkshire County joins campaign to end violence

Berkshire County will join with activists around the world on Thursday, Feb. 14, for "One Billion Rising," the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.

Berkshire community organizers include Elizabeth Freeman Center, HAVEN: Human/Animal Violence Education Network and WAM Theatre.

There will be countywide risings throughout the day and a One Billion Rising 10x10 Upstreet Dance Party at 6 p.m. upstairs at Spice Dragon.

Tickets for the dance cost $10 and are available at Bagels Too, 166 North St., or Bisques, Beads and Beyond, 141 North St.; by calling (800) 838-3006; or at http://onebillionrising10x10upstreetdanceparty.bpt.me.

Dance ticket price includes light fare, DJ Fern and other Rising related offerings.
