Pittsfield: Berkshire Humane Society celebrates animals in poetry


As part of National Poetry Month's festivities, Berkshire Humane Society is hosting its third annual "Celebrating Animals in Poetry" at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18, in the BHS lobby, 214 Barker Road.

The Church Hill Poets will read their own as well as others' poetry about the animals in their lives and beyond.

Participating poets include Stephen Philbrick, Dennis Pollock, Patty Kimura, Antonia Lake, Colin Harrington, Wil Hastings, and Joel Arsenault.

Refreshments will be served and a tour of the shelter will follow the reading. Books by the poets will also be on sale.

This event is free and is supported by the Chervenak-Nunnalle' Foundation Inc.
