Pittsfield: Berkshire Humane Society seeks donations for Kitten Shower

Berkshire Humane Society is expecting kittens, and lots of them! To help prepare and care for this year's litters, BHS is asking the community for donations for its second annual Kitten Shower now through Saturday, April 30.

The shelter cared for almost 300 kittens during last year's kitten season, which runs from spring through fall and sees the largest numbers of kittens born.

For a list of suggested items, visit http://berkshirehumane.org/2016/baby-shower-for-kitten-season/. Gift cards and monetary donations are also appreciated.

With each donation, donors will be able to suggest a name for a kitten.

Donations can be dropped off at the "Kitten Crib" in BHS's lobby and Benson's Pet Center on Dalton Avenue.

BHS's Humane Heroes will be collecting more food and supplies from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, outside of Stop & Shop on Merrill Road.
