Berkshire Lyric announces the start of their 50th anniversary season with their first rehearsal at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at the Pittsfield Unitarian-Universalist Church at the corner of Wendell Avenue and Broad Street.

Excellent new singers are invited to join. Singers are expected to read music well and have some choral experience. New singers will be required to have an individual vocal interview with the director during the first few weeks.

The chorus will begin preparation for the fall season which includes two Christmas concerts: Dec. 1 in Stockbridge, and Dec. 9 in Pittsfield.

Jack Brown joined Berkshire Lyric as its artistic director in 2007. In addition to conducting the Berkshire Lyric Chorus and the Blafield Children’s Chorus, he is on the faculty of The Hotchkiss School and at Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
