Berkshire Lyric will present a Sing-In of Handel’s "Messiah" at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at First United Methodist Church.

All proceeds of a free will offering will go directly to benefit the Pittsfield Fuel Emergency Fund, and the offering will be administered by the Pittsfield Area Council of Congregations.

At this "Sing-In" performance, the chorus will be made up of the audience, which will include many local choral singers including members of the 70 voice Berkshire Lyric Chorus.

Jack Brown, the artistic director of Berkshire Lyric, will conduct a small professional string ensemble and Berkshire Lyric’s Joe Rose will accompany on the church’s pipe organ.

Singers are encouraged to bring their own Messiah vocal scores or they may purchase them at the door.
