Pittsfield: Berkshire Museum to host arts and tourism public hearing
The Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development will hold its next public hearing and listening tour stop in the Berkshires on Monday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Berkshire Museum.
Elected officials including U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Massachusetts Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo plan on testifying.
Representatives from the committee, state legislators, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, and the Berkshires Visitors Bureau will join community members, artists, and local business owners to discuss the economic impact the arts, culture, and tourism have on the Berkshires.
As a part of its state-wide listening tour, the Committee has held public hearings and site visits on the South Coast and in the Metrowest region. Future hearings will take place in Franklin County, Greater Springfield, and the Merrimack Valley.
